Professor Ajay Agrawal: Foreword

    

Ajay Agrawal is the Geoffrey Taber Chair in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. Professor Agrawal is the Founder of the Creative Destruction Lab (CDL), a not-for-profit program for early-stage, science-based companies. Its mission is to enhance the commercialization of science for the betterment of humankind. CDL operates at 13 universities globally, and companies that have graduated from the program have generated over $30 billion in equity value. He is also a Co-founder and Board Director of Sanctuary AI, a Vancouver-based robotics company on a mission to create the world’s first human-like intelligence in general-purpose robots.

Etienne Fretault is an early-stage startup investor and mentor, a certified board member, and a member of several prominent angel investor organizations in the USA and in Europe.  

Rangesh Kasturi

Rangesh Kasturi has over 40 years of global experience in technology management, business development, strategic planning, and P&L leadership, including establishing and expanding businesses across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He is a mentor at CDL and the NATO DIANA initiative. He is the former President of L3Harris Maritime International. 

Professor Philip Kotler

Philip Kotler, the professor emeritus and S. C. Johnson & Son Distinguished Professor of International Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and often referred to as the father of modern marketing. 

Marvin Liao

As an investor-operator, Marvin manages the Investment Holding Company, Sukna Global. He was formerly a Partner at Diaspora Ventures, a pre-seed fund, and a partner and board member at Game Groove Capital, an International Gaming Holding Company. Dr. Paula Mendonça

Dr. Paula Mendonça has worked in intellectual property and research commercialization for nearly two decades, including leading the licensing of university IP. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Ocean Startup Project, a catalyst for sustainable ocean innovation.  CDL mentor.

Robert Orr

Robert Orr is a business leader with more than 30 years of experience at the senior management level in the marine biotech, nutritional ingredient, food retailing, food wholesaling, and retail advertising industries. Deborah Peacock

Deborah Peacock is a Patent Attorney, Engineer, a CEO and entrepreneur, an angel investor (including with some CDL companies), and sits on several corporate boards (Canada and U.S.). Deborah’s law practice and boards involve natural resources, mining, metallurgy, energy, battery materials, alternative energy, oil and gas, aerospace, outer space, and environmental technologies.  CDL mentor.
